Feeling around through the soundhole gets us on the path, but most of the time I used this approach, I felt like it was dark, I didn’t have a flashlight, and I was standing on my head. These tops capture the actual brace carving in extraordinary detail. They’re so accurate you can see chips and flaws in the original carving, cloth patches, etc.
